The University of Houston won't be requiring an SAT or ACT test of applicants through summer of 2022.
The school's Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Paula Myrick Short, announced this week there are other metrics to ensure they are admitting students who will be successful on campus, stressing that Covid has created an environment that calls for flexibility and creativity.
All of the UH System universities, including the University of Houston, the University of Houston-Downtown, University of Houston-Clear Lake, and University of Houston-Victoria adopted the measure last spring and the ruling has applied to all summer and fall 2020 admissions.
Graduate programs will each make their own determination of whether they will require standardized tests for admission.
