Health care as you know it is changing because of COVID-19.
You would think that doctors and patients would be relying on hospitals as much as they have in the past. But David Balat at the Texas Public Policy Foundation says we are seeing more 'decentralized' care.
"It's really the way things have been moving for a long time. More and more, technology has lent itself to outpatient care," Balat stated.
That means doctor visits over your phone. It also means Covid-19 is changing the way health care will be in the future.
"It's for the better. You see the widespread adoption and implementation of tele-medicine. You have had a significant number of doctors going into direct primary care," Balat explained.
A benefit of this, according to Balat, is more transparency on what this will all cost you.
