Some Worried Supply Chain Not Ready for a COVID Vaccine

There is no COVID-19 vaccine yet. However, when one is developed, the United States face an even bigger challenge: transporting it to millions of people across the country.

Freight companies say they need a coordinated coronavirus strategy fast.

“We’re not prepared for when this vaccine is going to come to market and going to need to be distributed,” Neel Jones Shah with freight forwarder Flexport, said last week. Shah voicing his concern during an online conference with other transporter executives.

Healthcare analyst Andrew Clark, with GDP Advisors, says it's a legitimate concern. Which is why he says Washington can and will step up to distribute a vaccine fairly and efficiently.

“Frankly, I think you’re going to see the federal government step in, and I think we are going to see the military involved in distributing the vaccine,” Clark said.

He adds it's unfair liberal organizations are already blaming President Trump for a potential problem he didn't cause and is working to address.
