Texas lawmakers are looking to get some clarification from Governor Greg Abbott on a key COVID-19 issue.
More than 60 State Senators and Representatives signed a letter to the Governor looking for him to clarify bar and restauraunt classifications. State Senator Charles Perry tells KTRH the classifcation of a bar being 51% of its money from alcohol hurts businesses that aren't actually bars.
"The dollars don't work. The 51% is arbitrary. It doesn't reflect an actual eating establishment," Perry explained.
Some call what's happening picking winners and losers. Perry says he would have liked the Governor to have called a special session for COVID-19
"You get different perspectives. I think that COVID has run its course to the extent we know what it's not," Perry said.
