Ray Wylie Hubbard is a treasure of Texas, as beloved by some as the main man Willie Nelson himself.
Hubbard had a brief stint of national prominence back in 1973 when Jerry Jeff Walker made Ray Wylie's Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mother something an anthem. It wasn't about Mother's Day.
Now he's gone big time at the age of 73, with a new album coming out next week featuring a track called "Co-Starring", which co-stars a few names worth name-dropping, including Ringo Starr on drums, who played in a band called the Beatles back in the 60's. Pam Tillis sings along, as does Ronnie Dunn, of Brooks and Dunn fame.
The album has been picked up by a record company called Big Machine. Perhaps you've heard of them. It's a big Nashville label with the likes of Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Reba McEntire, Cheap Trcik, to name a few.
It's out next week, or you can catch it below.
