Conservatives are celebrating a new milestone for President Trump: the Senate confirming his 200th judicial appointment.
The President and the Senate have cemented their place in history by confirming 200 judges. That includes the appeals court, district court, and the international trade court. The president also nominated Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch. Attorney David Starnes says more than the number, it's the kind of judges the president has appointed that really matter.
“He put on courageous and principled judges, not ones that make up the law as they go along and say that the law evolves. They read the text, they interpret the text and they rule from the text,” Starnes said.
He adds that's important because the judges will have an impact for decades to come. The milestone is also considered a victory for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has vowed “No vacancy left behind.”
