New Jersey Hiker Dubbed 'Calm Queen' After Close Call With Bear

The "Calm Queen" really earned that nickname. According to the Daily Voice, 25-year-old New Jersey hiker Julia Tupy was taking a break on a Sussex County hiking trail when a black bear emerged from the woods and started walking toward her. Check out the video of her calmly standing as the bear gets closer, and slowly walking away.

The video went viral and the internet has taken to calling Julia the "Calm Queen".

The incident has not deterred Julia or her friend Joe Kun, who captured the video, from hiking. They say they want people to learn from the video that people can stay calm , make good decisions, and come out of scary situations with no problems.
