Fort Bend County is getting some good news in the fight against COVID-19. But Governor Abbott has some concerns about what he saw over the Memorial Day weekend.
Fort Bend County has had nine straight days without a death from the virus, and only one COVID-19 death since May 13th. Earlier in May White House documents showed the county as a possible hot spot.
Governor Greg Abbott did not like seeing crowded bars and viral videos of pool parties from this past weekend, telling a Waco TV station Texans need to be smart about going out.
"If we do see overly crowded bars and overly crowded beaches, it does raise concerns about stoking up a flareup in the number of positive COVID-19 cases," Abbott said, adding that you should not act like the virus has gone away, because it is still here.

- The Redeemed Christian Church Of God Royal Priesthood Parish in Sugar Land has been told by its landlord to stop food distribution due to traffic ‘nuisance’ or face eviction. They have until June 5th to find a new location for food distribution.
- 40% of American adults say they will likely get the flu shot this year. That number is normally 15%.
- ‘Hamilton’ will not return to the Hobby Center this year because of COVID-19.
