Shelley Luther to KTRH: This has changed my life

The Texas salon owner who went to jail for re-opening her business is now helping other people who have found themselves in similar circumstances.

Shelley Luther joined a "freedom rally" in Laredo yesterday, showing her support for two hair stylists jailed for allegedly running their operation at home.

Luther joined Houston's Morning News today and told Jimmy Barrett and Shara Fryer she wants to donate portions of funds raised for her to the Laredo women who were also detained for going against the order.

"This has changed my life. I feel like I was put in this place to do some good here. I have a great opportunity and I want to take advantage of it," Luther explained.

More than $500,000 was raised for Luther after she was jailed and fined for operating her business. She was given the chance to apologize after being cited and fined on multiple occasions, but she refused.

She also told KTRH that she could wind up going back to jail. Listen to the entire interview below.
