Some polling had Texas being a tight race between Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden. Other polls had Sanders ahead. But in the end, Big Mo as in momentum carried Biden across the finish line in Texas.
Biden won nine states on Super Tuesday, including the four point win over Sanders here. Political consultant Joe Brettell told KTRH that after South Carolina, voters gave Biden another shot.
"People looked at him for the first time and didn't see Obama's Vice President," Brettell said. "They say a guy that could be President."
Mike Bloomberg just short of the 15% he needed to pick up some delegates here. Political analyst Chris Begala says Bloomberg got a bad return on his multi-million dollar investment.
"There's a lot of cash from Bloomberg that was passed around this state and this city. He doesn't have a lot to show for it," Begala stated.
President Trump won with 94% of the vote on the Republican side of the primary. Trump beating 'Uncommitted,' who at 3%, got more support than either William Weld or Joe Walsh.
In Congressional races, Wesley Hunt will challenge Lizzie Fletcher for her seat in DC. He told Jesse Kelly on KTRH winning a six-way primary isn't easy.
"It's a testament to the hard work that all the volunteers, my team, and the grit that we've shown for almost the last year when I announced," Hunt said.
In the race to replace Pete Olson as the Congressman out of Sugar Land, Troy Nehls and Kathleen wall will go to a runoff on May 26th.
"They believe that I will be able to take that same enthusiasm and leadership to Washington," Nehls said about advancing to the next step of the race. Nehls' brother Trever ran and won the primary for Nehls' old job as Fort Bend County Sheriff.
There will be a runoff in the Democratic race to challenge Senator John Cornyn. MJ Hegar is in; she will face either Royce West or Christina Tzintzun Ramirez
Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg wins her primary and will face Mary Nan Huffman in November.
