One-on-one time and my new book in Montgomery County

Last Saturday, I had my first GardenLine appearance of 2020, and it was a ton of fun with a great crowd at an impressive place - the Wild Birds Unlimited store on Memorial. I was surprised, though that only two listeners brought me samples of gardening problems look at. It might have been because everyone was there for the birdseed specials or to snag my new book.

So, this weekend at the Montgomery County Home & Outdoor Living Show, remember that you’ll have a great opportunity to get some one-on-one with me about specific gardening questions. And let me put a “pair of eyes” on samples of problems occurring at your place. Just bring ‘em with you to the Lone Star Convention Center in Conroe. Please slip them in sealed plastic bags if possible. Or take some pictures with your smartphone.

This is what we have normally done on Saturdays - a live broadcast to start the morning, a short book-signing from 10-10:30, a GardenLine Seminar 10:30 to 11:15, then one-on-one consulting and more book signing 11:30 to at least 3:00 p.m. I would love to come back for another session on Sunday, but can’t due to a family commitment. So, if you’d like to see how we do a GardenLine broadcast, be there at 9 a.m. Saturday when the doors open.

And here’s the book deal for this show. They are on sale for $15 each, but if you buy two or more, I’ll sell them to you for $25. Why buy two? Because you probably know someone who needs a copy. It could be a friend, a neighbor, a family member or a co-worker. And if you buy an extra book, I’ll include a gardening goodie – maybe bougainvillea fertilizer, maybe slow-release blooming-plant food, maybe soil activator, or weed killer or some good old-fashioned surfactant. The extra gifts are on a first-come, first-served basis. And I have only 66 of them … just sayin’.

Now, if you don’t have the time or inclination to travel to Conroe this Saturday, on Sat., March 7, I’ll be at one of the newest Ace Hardware stores in the area - the sparkling new All-Star Ace Hardware at 3789 Rayford Road, southeast of The Grand Parkway and just east of Birnham Woods. From 11 a.m.-1 p.m., we’ll have multiple drawings for every manner of bagged Nitro-Phos products … from Imperial 15-5-10, to Barricade, to Sweet Green, to Super Turf 19-4-10. And copies of the new book will be available there as well.

By the way, pay no attention to the cold weather we endured this morning. Just be prepared to get uber-busy with all your spring landscaping and yard work starting this weekend.

And, hey … want to check out my backyard? Watch this:
