HPD Patrol Car and Passenger Vehicle in Collision

An HPD patrol car with one officer aboard was involved in a passenger/automobile collision early Sunday (2-23-2020). The Officer was driving the patrol car with sirens blaring and lights flashing as he was on his way to a weapons incident at a nearby Chick Fil A. A Passenger car with two people inside turned in front of the patrol. HPD Commander Ben Tien explains: "The citizen took a turn that caused the accident. Both of the passengers and the police officer were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital where they are in stable condition. ...I remind everyone to be aware of law enforcement vehicles while you're driving. We're not releasing any names at this time." He continued to tell reporters that another police officer was dispatched immediately to address the incident at the Chick Fil A.
