Chrissie Hynde of the rock band The Pretenders doesn't agree politically with KTRH's Rush Limbaugh, but she is speaking out in defense of what President Trump did for the radio icon during the State of the Union address a couple of weeks ago.
Hyndesent a surprising message to President Trump this week, saying her father “would have been so delighted” to hear that the president honored the controversial conservative radio icon Rush Limbaugh with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor.
Many fans of Limbaugh have been accustomed to hearing the Pretenders tune “My City Was Gone” on his program.
Hyndewrote an open letter to the president on Twitter while protesting calls to extradite WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to the United States. Hynde explained that it was her father’s adoration of Limbaugh that prompted her to let the show keep on using her hit record.
