We don't know who is going to win the election in November. But what we do know is that change will come to Washington.
About three dozen members of Congress aren't running for re-election this year. Political analyst Felicia Cravens says that's really not a bad thing.
"Some of these guys that seem to be hanging up their spurs as it were are retiring after 30 or 40 years in office. That's normal," Cravens said.
The mainstream media is playing this up as a 'Trump' problem; that these lawmakers are leaving because of Trump. Cravens says that's mainstream media posturing.
"A lot of people want to have national themes drive elections because it's easy. It means they don't have to study the issues or the districts," Cravens explained.
And Pew Research says the number of retirements is actually normal; between 1992 and 2018, an average of 41 House members chose not to run for re-election.
