The Eagle Forum's first vice-president Cathie Adams said Americans are compassionate, but don't want to be used.
"Why are we having an open border to the rest of the world and thinking that someday, somehow, this is all going to work itself out? No. Every sovereign nation has got to have secure borders," said Adams.
She said it's not right that women are coming just to give birth to anchor babies.
"Something has got to be done. Especially when we look at in one year alone, over 36,000 foreign-born women came here just to have babies," said Adams.
She said people should come to the US because they want to be an American and immigrate, as well as assimilate, not just live off the taxpayer's dollar.
Adams added part of having secure borders is having citizenship as a premium.
