Fryer Feature: Wolff Foundation gifts U-H

Applause well-deserved for the Cyvia and Melvyn Wolff Family Foundation and its latest gift to the University of Houston.

A new 13 million dollars in endowment funding, will draw another 2 million in grants from the state of Texas, to the UH entrepreneurship program, named for the Wolffs in 2007.

Melvyn was the former chairman of Star Furniture here and maintained active business and civic leadership up until his death in 2017. In making the announcement his widow Cyvia spoke of the honor of ensuring a legacy of entrepreneurship and studies at UH,andin this city, that arose and remains noted for entrepreneurial business enterprise.

A footnote: just last month, Princeton Review selected UH as the number one undergrad school for entrepreneurship studies in America.

Thank the Wolffs for a large part of that.
