The Harris County District Attorney's office says the county may have more than 15-thousand DWI arrests by the upcoming end of the year.
There have been nearly 14-thousand-600 DWI arrests in the county so far in 2019.
That already surpasses last year's total of more than 14-thousand-100 arrests.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says the total includes more than 400 arrests of drivers under age 21.
The sheriff's office has created a task force to deal with the issue of DWI.
