A Houston teen ranked as the nation's number one wheelchair basketball recruit is heading to the University of Alabama on a full scholarship.
Peter Berry signed his letter of intent at the Emery-Weiner School on Stella Link alongside his cousin Noah, who took a tennis scholarship at Cal Poly.
Peter was just nine-years old when he was paralyzed from the waist down in a 2011 distracted driving crash. The wreck also claimed the lives of his parents and left his eight-year old brother in a wheelchair as well.
There are nine intercollegiate programs in the National Wheelchair Basketball Association, including the teams at Alabama and one at UT-Arlington.
There are more than 200 NWBA teams across the US and around the globe.
