Experts say it's a good time to refinance your home loan. Rates are low and perhaps going lower, so there's a refi boom underway.
Houston real estate agent Mike Weaster with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices says clients are saving pretty good money.
"I had a recent client who just refinanced and she got -- not a whole two points -- but almost two points off her mortgage."
Weaster says jump in, the water's fine.
"Yeah, I think it's a pretty good time to refinance, if you're in it for the long haul, simply because rates are so good."
Weaster says there's no way to know what the Fed will do but some think the Fed will cut rates again in December.
"Shop around, because there's a lot of lenders out there that are really vying for people's business. You can shop rates, you can shop how much it's going to cost to refinance -- just do some shopping, like you would for anything else."
Weaster says go with a lender you can trust and you can save a lot.
