The Astros will try to beat an old friend on their way to finishing off the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS this afternoon.
Charlie Morton, who was one of the heroes of the 2017 World Series win over the Dodgers, goes for Tampa Bay this afternoon. Morton left the Astros as a free agent after the 2018 season. Manager A.J. Hinch says facing Morton doesn't faze him or his players.
"I don't think it changes a ton. The stage is bigger," Hinch said.
In fact, he says that to his team, it's just another game.
"One of the things I take the most pride in is our ability to stay in the moment and play today's game," Hinch explained.
Hinch also says that even though the Astros are up 2-0 in the series, the scrappy Rays aren't a team they should overlook.
"We are not going to celebrate until we get three wins. We are not taking anything for granted. We know those guys are really good," Hinch stated.
Zack Greinke starts for the Astros. On Deck starts at 10 this morning on Sports Talk 790. First pitch is at Noon.
