Secretary of Energy and former Texas Governor Rick Perry denies that he discussed former Vice President Joe Biden or his son Hunter in conversation with Ukrainian officials or when talking with President Trump.
Fox News reports Perry’s name came up in a phone call the president had with Congressional Republicans when Trump explained he had made “a perfect call” to the president of Ukraine at Perry’s request. The initial report on the call was posted by Axios.
Some Congressional Republicans say that during closed door testimony before House committees last week former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Kurt Volker testified there was no “quid pro quo” offer made during the president’s call.
In an exclusive interview Friday with the Christian Broadcasting Network, Perry said his conversations with Ukraine were regarding corruption but did not include mention of the Bidens. He says he has never discussed the matter with President Trump.
