In Chambers County at 10am Thursday a life-threatening flash flood situation is unfolding as a hospital in the Winnie-Stowell area has been evacuated.
Flooding is occurring. The National Weather Service has decalred a Flash Flood Emergency until 11:15 for SE Montgomery County, Northeast Harris County and Liberty County.
There are reports of flooded homes and businesses, some with four to five feet of water. Residents are reminded to take pets on a leash with food if evacuating.
A flood shelter has been established at White’s Park Community Center at 225 Memorial park Road.
These roads are closed and not safe:
All roads North & East of FM 1410 & FM 1941.
I-10 Frontage Rd at Hwy 124.
Hwy 65 between Anahuac & Winnie-Stowell is flooded & impassible.
