Montgomery County officials issued this to residents in the path of Imelda:
>>Tropical Depression Imelda continues to move north through Southeast Texas at a rate of 5 MPH. It is projected that Imelda will be near Trinity this evening. We will still continue to see strong shower and thunderstorms across Southeast Texas today, and will continue to produce hazardous flooding conditions.
Montgomery County is projected to see 5-10 inches of rain in the next 24 hours. The National Weather Service Advanced Hydrological Prediction Center forecasts:
- The East Fork of the San Jacinto River near New Caney to rise to moderate flood stage and crest at 62.3 feet Friday September 20th.
- Peach Creek near Splendora to rise to minor flood stage and crest at 15.3 feet late Thursday night September 19th into Friday September 20th.

Montgomery County has the following roads as Passable, but please proceed with caution:

·E Christine / US Hwy 59
·Cox St / Old US Hwy 59
·US 59 / Rebel
Additionally Splendora ISD has made the call to release students early today, and are still gathering information on the status for the school day tomorrow. Splendora will release students as follows:
- Secondary Students will be released at 1:30 PM
- Elementary Students will be released at 2:30 PM
- All After School Activities have been canceled
