Wade Miley is 13 and 5 with a 3.74 ERA and should be on the top of the world when he pitches against the Royals in Kansas City this afternoon, but he's playing with the Astros where outstanding pitching can get lost in the crowd when you're alongside Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole and Zach Greinke.
Greinke picked up his 16th win in a 6 to 1 victory Saturday.
The Astros' magic number to win the American League West is down to six, and they sit just one game behind the New York Yankees for the best record in baseball.
The Astros may be close to full strength this afternoon as the club looks to activate shortstop Carlos Correa. Correa has been on the 10-day injured list with back discomfort since Aug. 20, but he texted manager A.J. Hinch recently saying he is ready to go. Hinch also said Correa had been playing with Triple-A Round Rock in the playoffs until the Express were eliminated. The staff will evaluate him on Monday in Houston, and the Astros likely will activate him off the injured list on Tuesday when the Rangers come to the Juice Box.
