People in Maryland today say, "you could hear it for miles!"
This morning a gas explosion in Maryland destroyed part of a building and shopping center and so far - no one has been reported injured. Firefighters did immediately evacuate the surrounding area and the building. The scary thing now is the building is at risk of collapsing. Columbia, Maryland is the site of the significant damage to the structure of the building which houses offices and retail space.
There were power outages due to the explosion which not only inconvenienced businesses and residents - but area roads also had to be closed. The gas in the area has been turned off and an investigation continues.
