Mainstream media double standard exists when reporting about gun violence

The shootings in El Paso and Dayton continue to dominate the headlines, but the mainstream media is conveniently leaving other stories about gun violence out of their newscasts and articles.

In case you missed it, a dozen people were shot in Houston without the media losing their minds this past weekend. It was another bloody weekend in Chicago with 59 gunshot victims. Erich Pratt with Gun Owners of America tells KTRH it doesn't look good to talk about gun violence in a city that tries to restrict gun rights.

"The gun control laws are not making people safer so it doesn't help to talk about that," Pratt said.

So they keep concentrating on El Paso, trying to connect those shootings to politics, and specifically President Trump. Terry Holcomb at Texas Carry says you shouldn't expect that to change any time soon.

"It's going to continue to intensify as long as they don't get their way and have their power," Holcomb said, adding that it's been the same story for the last four years, when Trump first announced he was officially running for President.
