Early Friday morning a 2-year old girl was shot in the back of her head while she was sitting in her family car. Her father, also in the car, engaged in gunfire with another person or persons while sitting at an intersection. After the bullet hit the toddler, her mother rushed her to the closest hospital in the same car.
The girl was Life-Flighted to Memorial Hermann in critical condition. Miraculously, the girl is expected to recover. Houston Police Assistant Chief Troy Finner talked to our TV partner Channel 2 at the scene. "We're batting a thousand in the City of Houston right now [in finding shooters]. If anybody kills or shoots one of our kids - we're going after them!" Finner said the incident might be gang-related.
