As the long fourth of July holiday weekend approaches, Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said they're cracking down on drunk drivers.
"First six months of 2018 from 2,218 to the first six months of 2019 to 3,862 Houstonians that have been arrested by the Houston Police Department for driving while intoxicated," said Acevedo. “So, as of yesterday, we have made an additional 1,644 arrests for DWI."
He said Houston, Harris County and Texas have the most drunk drivers in the nation.
