UT Health has provided the following press release:
Stomp Out Stroke Festival Rescheduled to June 8 Due to Anticipated Adverse Weather
The UTHealth Stomp Out Stroke Festival has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 8 due to anticipated heavy thunderstorms.
The free, fun event will take place, as previously, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Discovery Green’s Jones Lawn.
Registration remains open at www.strokefestival.org and people who have already registered do not need to do so again.
“The Stomp Out Stroke Festival will now take place on Saturday, June 8 following the decision to postpone the event due to adverse weather forecasts,” said Elizabeth Noser, MD, assistant professor of neurology at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).“I am sorry to disappoint everyone who had registered to attend, but this type of outdoor event, which offers health screenings, is not suited to heavy rainfall. All registrants and volunteers have been informed and I am extremely grateful to everyone who has helped to find an alternative date so quickly. Huge thanks also to the community for their understanding – without their continued support this great event would not be possible,” Noser said.
