The driver who caused a deadly 28-vehicle pile-up on a Colorado highway Thursday is from Houston.
Colorado Officials confirm, Rogel Lazaro Aguilera Mederos, 23, has been charged with multiple counts of vehicular homicide in connection with the Thursday crash, which shut down Interstate 70 near Lakewood, Colorado, for hours while crews worked to extinguish the massive resulting fire.
Multiple people were killed when Aguilera Mederos, 18 wheeler crashed into slow-moving eastbound traffic around 4:50 p.m.
Lakewood police say four people were killed in the crash.
Local officials say, as of Friday morning six civilians were injured, but there was no update on their conditions.
According to police, 24 passenger vehicles and four semi-trucks involved in this deadly accident.
