Two drivers suffered minor injuries after hitting a loose cow on SH-146.
Texas City police say the road was shut down around 1:30am. Both an SUV and a pickup hit the animal near the Chase Park Subdivision in Bacliff. The truck's front end was smashed; the SUV flipped and burst into flames.
The cow was killed.
Police reopened the highway around 2:30am.
