Area law enforcement said they arrested pimps and human traffickers in a sex sting in Katy.
A human trafficking prostitution sting involving multiple agencies in Katy last month resulted in multiple arrests and charges.
Houston Police Sergeant John Wall said Operation Tripoint was a huge success.
“Forty-seven individuals were arrested during this operations. Twenty-seven females and 20 males. Eight were confirmed victims. Eight were charged with human trafficking related offenses,” said Wall.
He says they recovered a 16-year-old who was being sold for sex, as well as a runaway.
Chris Sandoval with Harris County Sheriff's Office, encourages the public to get involved and contact law enforcement to help end human trafficking, which usually involves forced prostitution.
“You see things in your neighborhood and in your areas that are going on and you recognize those as being something that needs law enforcement scrutiny, don’t hesitate to call us. That’s what we’re there for, that’s what we do,” said Sandoval.
