The FBI has arrested the leader of a militia group that was holding migrant families at gunpoint near the border in New Mexico.
The state's attorney general announced that Larry Mitchell Hopkins was arrested and charged with possessing firearms by a felon. Hopkins went by the name of Johnny Horton Junior.
Hopkins led the United Constitutional Patriots which has uploaded videos of its members holding children and their parents in the New Mexico desert near El Paso, Texas.
They eventually handed them over to Border Patrol agents.
While the charge against Hopkins is minor, it will likely allow investigators to take a closer look at his organization.
