San Antonio Reconsiders its Chick-fil-A Ban

After weeks of bad publicity, San Antonio City Council is revisiting its ban on Chick-fil-A at the airport.

San Antonio Chamber of Commerce President Richard Perez tells our sister station Newsradio 1200 WOAI this needs to be taken seriously

"How about a discussion and a dialogue with the business community; let's sit down at the table together andfigure this thing out."

He says when council voted on the ban last month, they never asked the business community for their input.

"There is a battle to attract businesses to their cities, and when we do something like what we did with Chick-fil-A, that is a negative sign to any business that would want to come to a growing community like San Antonio."

Critics of the quick-service chain claim they have a history of anti-LGBTQ activity, including donations to charitable groups that champion traditional marriage.
