(Houston, TX) -- An arctic cold front is bringing cooler temps to the Houston area this week. A freeze watch is in effect for most of the greater Houston area starting at midnight and continuing through 8 a.m. Tuesday. Morning lows are expected to drop into the upper 20s for most of the counties just north of Houston, 30 to 32 in the metro area, and mid-30s down along the coast. The chill will linger through the middle of the week, with temps on Tuesday and Wednesday topping out in the mid-50s. Warmer air and a chance of rain will return by Thursday.
