(Washington, DC) -- A U.S. Coast Guard officer working in the nation's capital is accused of being a domestic terrorist. FBI agents arrested Lieutenant Christoper Paul Hasson and seized a stockpile of weapons and ammunition from his home in Silver Spring, Maryland on Friday. Now prosecutors must prove that he is a danger to the public when they head to court today.
Government court filings claim Hasson planned to launch a terror attack on prominent politicians and journalists from a list of targets that included the like of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. They describe Hasson as a white nationalist who intended to murder innocent civilians "on a scale rarely seen in this country."
