POLL: Trump set to rally in El Paso tonight

As he continues to make a push for border security and your safety, President Donald Trump will visit El Paso tonight.

His main point at the rally tonight will be to point out how a barrier, or border fence, keeps people safe.

“With a powerful barrier in place, El Paso is one of the safest cities,” Trump said during the State of the Union last week.

Adolpho Telles with the El Paso Republican Party told KTRH the fence has worked.

“It’s a great opportunity for us to showcase El Paso. El Paso has had its issues in the past. We are one of the safest cities in the United States,” Telles said.

Mayor Dee Margo told CNN that his city is where you want to go to see exactly how border security works.

“I’ve been saying for months if people want to understand the border they need to come down to El Paso. We are the largest U.S. city on the Mexican border,” Margo explained.

Jon Barela, the CEO of Borderplex Alliance in El Paso, says the fence has done its job.

“El Paso has been one of the safest if not safest city of its size in the entire country,” Barela told KTRH News.

Governor Greg Abbott and Senator Ted Cruz will join the President at tonight's rally . Attendance is expected to be about 11-thousand. There will be protests as well, headlined by Beto O'Rourke and the Trump Baby balloon that got headlines last year.
