Ten U.S. cities will host matches in the 2026 World Cup, and Houston is competing to be one of them.
Houston and Harris County officials made the announcement on Thursday morning.
Sixteen cities in North America will host six matches each, including three cities in Canada, three in Mexico, and ten in the United States.
Right now, 17 U.S. cities are in the running, and FIFA, the governing body of international football, will narrow down the list by next year.
