Meteor shower to dazzle star gazers

The next couple of days will be big if you are into watching the sky light up at night.

The biggest meteor shower of the year, the Geminid meteor shower, is scheduled to take place, and Aaron Clevenson with the Insperity Observatory tells KTRH the best time to see the fireworks will be at two o’clock tomorrow morning.

“You want to get away from all lights if possible. Anywhere in the sky will be a good place to look,” Clevenson explained.

Clevenson also says you’ll have to be quick, because these showers can last for seconds at a time.

“They usually don’t take very long. The further away you are from straight overhead the longer the streak will be,” Clevenson said.
