(London) -- Queen Elizabeth is remembering the late former President George H.W. Bush following his death on Friday. The Queen called Bush a "great friend and ally of the United Kingdom." She said Bush 41 was "a patriot, serving his country with honor and distinction in Office and during the Second World War."
She reflected on her time in Texas with Prince Philip and the Bush family back in 1991. It's still unclear if the royal family will attend the funeral.
Prince Charles is heading to Washington, DC to attend the funeral of former President George H.W. Bush.
Several other foreign dignitaries are expected to be on hand, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The funeral will be held at the National Cathedral.
