Oil Boom Spurs Export Development On Texas Coast

(Houston, TX)  --  As the U.S. becomes a top exporter of oil and gas, more than 80 industry-related projects are planned for the state's Gulf Coast.  Many of the new plants and terminals are to be built in either Houston or Corpus Christi.  

Congress ended a longstanding ban on crude oil exports three years ago, prompting companies to build infrastructure to move oil and gas from West Texas to the Gulf Coast for export.  

Two terminals for supertankers are proposed for Corpus Christi as it competes with Houston to be the top site for sending crude oil overseas.
