Some Mizzou students are in town this week helping residents of the Brookwood Community in Brookshire -- a center for adults with disabilities.
Blake Clements is one of the student leaders here in Houston, but he says dozens of Mizzou students are doing the same thing across the country.
"There's some in New Mexico, there's some in Oklahoma, there's another disabilities trip in Colorado that's helping with adaptive skiing."
Clements says they're helping the residents with lots of things, like exercise and arts and crafts.
"We have also painted this apartment because some of the home teachers live on campus, so it's easier to access."
Clements says there's no place he'd rather be.
"They have really been such an amazing community and they're very God-centered and they just have really opened up their community to us and every one of them has been so welcoming and positive and I literally could not think of a better place to be over my Thanksgiving break."
Brookwood has 110 resident adults who are functionally disabled and live there 24/7.
