HOUSTON - Black Friday is around the corner and 35% of people plan to spend more than $500 this year, according to WalletHub’s 2018 Holiday Shopping Survey. Just 33% said they spent that much in 2017. The survey, also, found 55 million people will be carrying debt into February at least.
Marketing expert Kristen McCauley gave some tips to take heed of to possibly curtail that debt. First she says for shoppers to set a budget for each person you're buying for and keep track of all the expenditures and she also recommends taking advantage of Black Friday deals even though the survey found 127 million shoppers find Black Friday sales to no longer be a big deal.
McCauley says, "Remove the auto-fill credit cards from your web browser. Not only is it more secure, but it will prevent you from making those impulse buys.
