Tomball Police report someone has been passing counterfeit cash in the area.
The funny money apparently is a prop from a movie, and has “For Motion Picture Use Only” printed on the front, along with “This note is not legal.”
A $50 dollar bill with a markedly unhappy President Ulysses S Grant slipped past someone at the Tomball Regional Hospital last Wednesday.
The police department’s social media site says they’ve had several reports of the fake money being spread.
They urge residents to check your bills for authentication, including watermarks, the security thread, and the words “This note is not legal.” That’s a dead give away.
Just looking for a frowning President Grant might not be enough. The dude apparently didn’t smile much, and certainly not on the real $50 dollar bill either.
