Poll: Media dividing country more than Trump

It’s one day before Election Day, and a new poll shows you have a higher opinion of President Trump than you do of the mainstream media.

A Morning Consult poll shows 64% of you think the media divides us. That compares to 56% saying the same thing about the President. Gary Polland with the Texas Conservative Review isn't surprised.

“My only surprise is that the number when it comes to the media isn’t higher,” Polland explained. “The media irresponsibility this election cycle has gotten stunningly worse.

Maybe that's because of rants like this from CNN's Don Lemon.

““I keep trying to point out to people not to demonize any one group or any one ethnicity, but we keep thinking that the biggest terror threat is something else," Lemon said.” Some people who are marching towards the border like it’s imminent. And the last time they did this, a couple of hundred people came and they, you know, most of them didn’t get into the country. Most of them got tuckered out before they even made it to the border. So we have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them.”

And Polland thinks that eventually you'll simply tune out.

“Their ratings will start reflecting the limited audience they are speaking to,” Polland stated.

The poll numbers show how partisan this is. Eighty percent of Republicans think the media is dividing us while 67% of independents say the same thing; only 46% of Democrats agree.
