Texans put streak on the line in Denver

The Houston Texans have won five straight games after starting the season with three losses. They are in first place in the AFC South, and will put their winning streak on the line later this afternoon when they visit the Broncos in Denver.

It will be the first game for new Texans receiver Demaryius Thomas, who came to the Texans in a trade before the deadline on Tuesday. Thomas is excited about getting this opportunity.

“I look forward to it. I am ready to get to work,” Thomas said.

His new quarterback, Deshaun Watson is pumped to have him in the locker room as well.

“This is a great opportunity for him and for us,” Watson stated.

Even defenders like J.J. Watt are thrilled to have Thomas on board after the season ending injury to Will Fuller.

“It fills a need. That was a tough injury and a big blow. Demaryius has been a great player for a long time, and this will be a big boost,” Watson explained.

The game is also a chance for the Texans to catch up to a familiar face. Case Keenum is now the starting quarterback in Denver. The former Texans quarterback and Houston Cougars star admits his pride was hurt when he saw that Texans coach Bill O’Brien wasn’t a big believer in what he could do.

“Whatever it was that was said motivated me and got me going,” Keenum said.

Today’s kickoff is at 3:05pm.
