Family Of Woman Who Died During Pancake Contest Suing University

(Fairfield, CT)  --  The family of a New Jersey woman who died during a pancake-eating contest is now suing Sacred Heart University.  Twenty-year-old Caitlin Nelson of Clark, New Jersey choked to death in March 2017 while taking part in the event at the Connecticut school.

Eyewitnesses attempted to render aid until paramedics arrived, but Nelson suffered severe brain damage due to the lack of oxygen and passed away several days later.

Her family argues the school was negligent in not having medical personnel on hand for the event.  There's been no comment from the university.
