The Houston Texans started the season by losing their first three games. But that seems to be firmly in the past.
What has replaced it is now a five-game winning streak. The Texans came out and put a beating on the Miami Dolphins last night by a final of 42-23 at NRG Stadium. The win assures the team that they will stay at the top of the AFC South.
The offense was clicking on all cylinders last night. Deshaun Watson was almost perfect, completing 16-of-20 passes for 239 yards and he matched a career high with five touchdowns. But Watson says it wasn’t all because of him. He had plenty of help.
“You have to give credit to the receivers and offensive line. It made it easy for me,” Watson said.
But not everyone was happy. DeAndre Hopkins caught two touchdown passes last night but said it wasn’t a perfect night by any stretch.
“We still left some stuff out there. We left a lot of stuff out there,” Hopkins stated.
And there was bad news form an injury standpoint as well. Receiver Will Fuller left the game with about nine minutes left with what looked like a knee injury; an injury the tam fears may be a torn ACL. They will put Fuller through an MRI to confirm. If it is a torn ACL, his season would be over.
Running back Lamar Miller ran for 133 yards and a touchdown. After two sackless games, J.J. Watt picked up his seventh sack of the season.
The Texans will be on the road a week from Sunday to face the Broncos.
