CONSTITUTION DAY

A nod on Houston's Morning News to Constitution Day.  The miracle foundation of the American republic the U.S. Constitution was signed on September 17, 1787 in Philadelphia.  

It isn't a national holiday resoundingly celebrated.  In this current political atmosphere, more likely that fireworks, rhetorical ones anyway, are directed at the Constitution itself.  But shouldn't we all be refreshing our memories of this singular protection of our liberty...the government of "We the People", the limitation of government power over our lives.  Celebrating Constitution Day is a call to remember what it provides and denies to power. Do you find it strange that Groundhog Day usually draws more ballyhooed observance and coverage?
