Texas out-ranks 80% of the country with its high state-economy rankings. Financial website WALLET HUB recently analyzed each state and ranked Texas very high in many categories including Economic Health. We asked WalletHub Analyst Jill Garcia for her definition of “Economic Health.”
“We look at unemployment rates, underemployment rates, wages not remaining stagnant but actually growing which they happen to be in many parts of Texas right now.”
Texas is currently number one in the nation for Per Capita Exports. Garcia mentioned, “The only way for Texas to move to the Tope 5 area next year is to work on the state’s innovation potential, more high-tech industry and more stem jobs.”
